Ron Knowling, Manager of Library Services in Baker Lake, shows off some of the books recently sent to the 11 libraries of Nunavut Territory by Calgary/Arrow in the Arctic.
Ron on a “brisk” day – He says, “Right now it is -38c with another 21 degrees of wind-chill adding up to -59c (-74 f). I walk to work each morning regardless of the weather. It is about a mile from my apt to the office and generally it takes me 10 -15 minutes to get there depending on conditions and my energy levels.” It is an honor and pleasure for Pi Beta Phi to work with Ron and others who are so dedicated to literacy in the Arctic and all over North America!
