Initiation Banquet Whole House

Massachusetts Gamma Welcomes its New Sisters!

Pi Beta Phi recently welcomed 13 new sisters into their Massachusetts Gamma chapter, the newest sorority at MIT. "We are so excited for our new Pi Phis," said Chapter President Hillary Benson, a junior studying course 15. "The chapter has accomplished so much in its first year, but a successful spring recruitment and a chapter full of fun, intelligent, and involved women are great ways to cap it all off."

Hareem and Dina at Initiation Banquet

The new sisters of MA Gamma were initiated in early April after eight weeks of learning about the causes and history of their international fraternity, the first lettered organization for collegiate women upon its founding in 1867. Following initiation ceremonies, they were treated to a formal banquet from the first new member class plus gifts from their big sisters.

This spring's recruitment brings Pi Phi's total membership at MIT to 52. The chapter will participate in formal recruitment this September alongside the five other sororities on campus.
