“We weren’t known for being the ‘stereotypical’ sorority girl. I think we came together as a group to show other women on campus that Pi Beta Phi was a support system, academically and socially. I believe that legacy extends 18 years later. I am so proud of the women that graduate from NAU with experiences from Greek Life. I believe that they take with them a sense of who they are and how they relate to other people.”

About Arizona Gamma
Our chapter was installed on April 20, 1990, but the process did not just start and end there. Rather it began the summer before when several women came together and realized something was missing in their lives. Each woman shared a link, a bond, or even just the desire to become a Pi Phi, and thus the journey began.
At this time, Pi Beta Phi was one of three sororities chosen to make a presentation to Panhellenic to potentially join the local Greek community. Thankfully, Pi Phi was chosen and recruitment began that January. The women were not alone, but rather they had help from many Pi Phi’s. Women from Arizona State University, the University of Arizona, and New Mexico came to help conduct the recruitment events and aided in finding just the right women to establish another branch of such a life changing organization.
Altogether, 92 women were initiated including three alumnae initiates. From there our chapter began to mold and shape into what it has become today. We are a group of women, from all walks of life, with an array of hobbies and interests, but we share one common bond, our love of each other and of Pi Beta Phi.
