Welcome to Louisiana Alpha!
Welcome to the Louisiana Alpha Chapter of Pi Beta Phi sorority! Brought together by common values of integrity, personal and intellectual growth, philanthropic service, and genuine friendship, our chapter provides young women with opportunities to create meaningful relationships and to make a difference in the New Orleans community. There is no better way to develop your passions and discover your dreams than alongside your sisters to provide you with support and encourage you along the way.
The lovely ladies of Tulane University’s Louisiana Alpha
chapter are well known to show up and bring the fun, and the spring of 2010 was
no exception!
Pledging
Our
newest pledges started with a bang on bid day, by heading to Cannon’s Restaurant
to celebrate both the beginning of their exciting Pi Phi sisterhood and the New
Orleans Saints’ latest victory…and their sisters were there waiting for them!

Big/little sis
One
of the most exciting events during the spring semester is the big sis little
sis ceremony where each of our pledges is matched with their big sister- a
sophomore or junior who will guide them though the rest of their pledging
process and college career! In
addition to receiving a big sister, our freshmen are welcomed into their new Pi
Phi family- including grand-bigs and great-grand-bigs, (juniors and
seniors). Family events help
develop relationships with older sisters who are happy to pass down advice (and
tons of gifts) to the newest family members!

Initiation
The
final ceremony marking the end of the pledging process occurred in late spring,
and was immediately followed, as usual, by a delicious brunch at the Court of
Two Sisters.

Mixers, formals and date parties
The
spring semester of 2010 was packed with social events a few being the patriotic
USAE mixer where everyone showed their American pride, adorable Mai Tie crush
party where your surprise date was chosen by one of your sisters, and classy
semi-formal, thrown at Metro

Philanthropy
Being
a Pi Phi means that giving back to the community is important to your college
experience, so we join with other sororities and fraternities to help others
and improve New Orleans. Our “Burgers
for Books” event and book drives help raise money and books for underprivileged
children with limited resources.
Teaming up with other Greek organizations for everything from Beautify
Broadway to food and recycling drives kept us busy all semester!

We invite you to visit our national Web site to learn even more about us!
Mission
The mission of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for women is to promote friendship, develop women of intellect and integrity, cultivate leadership potential and enrich lives through community service.
