About CA Lambda

To learn more about some of our members go to CA Lambdas only.

The California Lambda Chapter of Pi Beta Phi was started at The University of California, Riverside on April 24, 1988, and this year we are celebrating our 22th year on campus! Although we are still a fairly young chapter on campus, the lovely ladies of Pi Beta Phi are well-rounded individuals who know the importance of balance and of having a good time! While academics naturally come before everything else, sisterhood is not far behind. Pi Phis are always doing something together, whether it be planning sleepovers at the Pi Phi house, studying, going to the gym, grabbing coffee, watching our favorite tv shows together, or simply hanging out in between classes.

In fact, it is our genuine love for one another that enables us to get along so well and work to achieve common goals, such as winning Sports Week for 6 years in a row! Philanthropy is also very important and the Pi Phis at UCR are also innovators! Angel Idol Karoke Contest, our annual philanthropy event, was developed several years ago and is unique to our campus! Members of the Greek system anticipate the arrival of this event every year. Furthermore, Pi Phis strive to read to elementary children and are involved in national events such as Read Across America and Dr. Seuss' birthday. With everything said, the women of Pi Beta Phi are truly the angels of UC Riverside!

Fall 09

"When you meet a Pi Phi, you realize immediately that there's something unique about her. There's an unmatched level of integrity and commitment to excellence, and a general aura of potential that sets this person apart from the pack. That's because she's a Pi Phi through and through and a member of a premier organization for women. We have a long, rich history that is steeped in tradition and values, and the ideals set forth by our Founders are what we still live by today."
