CA Xi Installation Story

Congratulations California Xi

Published On: 2015-05-06

Pi Beta Phi celebrated the installation of its California Xi Chapter at the University of San Diego May 1–3, 2015. Many San Diego area alumnae and collegians joined the 98 California Xi collegians and four alumna initiates to celebrate the chapter’s installation. Campus friends joined the women for a Cookie Shine, a Pi Phi tradition, which was held on Friday night. Pi Phi alumnae from across North America, as well as family and friends, attended the Installation Banquet on Saturday night. On Sunday, Grand President Paula Pace Shepherd installed chapter officers at their first chapter meeting.

Throughout their New Member period, the collegiate women immersed themselves into the University of San Diego fraternity and sorority community. The women visited a local elementary school to read with the children, partnered with the men of Beta Theta Phi to win Best Skit and Most Spirited during Greek Week and celebrated Founders’ Day with 200 other San Diego Pi Phis.

“We are thrilled to join the thriving fraternity and sorority community at the University of San Diego,” said Grand Vice President Membership Cindy Rice Svec. “The Panhellenic community, campus officials and local alumnae have shown us incredible support, which is evident when you hear about all the wonderful things the women of the California Xi Chapter have already accomplished in such a short time.”
