Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women

For Potential New Members

To request a recommendation letter for Pi Beta Phi:

Each chapter has different requirements for recommendation letters, so please check your college's Pi Phi chapter's specific requirements on their website.

We ask that you please write to us at least three weeks in advance of when you need the recommendation.

Usually, at least the following is needed:

  1. A professional headshot (4x6)
  2. An unofficial copy of your academic transcript
  3. A social resume (sample)
  4. A large manila envelope, stamped and addressed to your college's Pi Phi chapter's address (also found on their website).
Please email Mariel Pearl to request a recommendation letter and to obtain the address to send the things listed above to (the items need to be mailed snail-mail rather than email).

In your email, please identify if you are a legacy (meaning your mother, sister, aunt, grandmother was in Pi Phi) and answer the following prompt. A paragraph will do!

Pi Beta Phi has six core values: integrity, lifelong commitment, honor and respect, personal and intellectual growth, philanthropic service to others, and sincere friendship. What have you achieved and what qualities do you possess that align with these values and would make you an asset to Pi Beta Phi?

*Please note that a recommendation does not guarantee a bid to membership from Pi Phi

The Mission of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women is to promote friendship, develop women of intellect and integrity, cultivate leadership potential and enrich lives through community service.
