Meet Grand Council

Pi Beta Phi is pleased to introduce the seven women serving on Grand Council for the 2021-2023 biennium. These women support the mission, vision and strategic direction of Pi Beta Phi. We look forward to all they will accomplish for our sisterhood!

Grand President
Lisa Gamel Scott, Colorado Alpha

What do you hope to accomplish this biennium?

I hope to help create a path for the future success of fraternity and sorority life as well as prepare Pi Beta Phi for that future.

Pi Beta Phi has taught me…

how to develop my leadership skills and how to collaborate with a team to achieve our goals.

One food item I could never give up is …

Macaroni & Cheese

Grand Vice President Collegians
Melissa Malone Colvin, Virginia Theta

Why did you want to serve on Grand Council?

I believe in our organization and our mission to promote friendship, develop women of intellect and integrity, cultivate leadership potential and enrich lives through community service.

What do you consider to be the most valuable thing you own?

My integrity

My favorite place in the world is …

with my family. Home is where the Air Force plants us, and we aim to bloom together wherever we are planted!

Grand Vice President Member Experience
Jamie Feist Daniels, Montana Alpha

What do you hope to accomplish this biennium?

I hope to continue to build upon the foundation laid over the last biennium and increase satisfaction for an inclusive member experience.

What is the best advice you ever received?

Happiness is a choice and everything else is a matter of perspective.

Most people don’t know, but I…

have traveled the world by boat through a Semester at Sea program during college.

Grand Vice President Finance/Housing
Emory Mcginnis Eison, Mississippi Beta

Why did you want to serve on Grand Council?

I am passionate about developing women leaders at all levels of the organization. I believe in the sorority experience and want to see that experience remain relevant in the future.

Pi Beta Phi has taught me…

to set boundaries. It’s easy for our volunteer roles to become time consuming so it’s important for me to practice life balance.

Most people don’t know, but I…

love to garden! Every year our garden gets bigger and bigger.

Grand Vice President Inclusion/Community Relations
Amy Lorenzen Southerland, South Dakota Alpha

What is something you are looking forward to during your time on Grand Council?

I’m ready to attend Pi Phi events again! I love going to events where I can meet Pi Phis of all ages – from collegians to golden arrows.

Pi Beta Phi has taught me…

the value of friendship among women of all ages.

My favorite place in the world is …

my screened-in porch in Cary, North Carolina. I love listening to music with my husband, telling each other about our days and making plans for the future.

Grand Vice President Fraternity Growth
Ana Mancebo Miller, Texas Beta

What is something you are looking forward to during your time on Grand Council?

Mentorship, especially of young women, has always been a priority for me. I am excited to have the opportunity to empower young women to use their authentic voices and lead on campus and in their everyday lives.

Describe Pi Beta Phi in one word:

Opportunity

What is the best advice you ever received?

If it is not an emphatic “YES,” then it is (and should be) a “no.” Time is our scarcest commodity!

Grand Vice President Alumnae
Greer Horne, Virginia Zeta

What do you hope to accomplish this biennium?

I hope to find ways to continue making Pi Phi a place for all members who want to be bold, courageous, Friends and Leaders for Life.

What is your favorite Pi Phi memory?

My first convention. It was my first look into how supportive and amazing all my Pi Phi sisters are and how special it is to be part of this organization.

One food item I could never give up is …

cheese (charcuterie cheeses, sprinkle parmesan or sliced cheddar — I love them all!)
