Meet the 2021-2022 Leadership Development Consultants

Pi Beta Phi is pleased to introduce the 11 outstanding members serving as our 2021–2022 Leadership Development Consultants (LDCs). We look forward to all they will accomplish working with our chapters and empowering our sisterhood!

Elisabeth Braun, Colorado Gamma

Traveling Leadership Development Consultant

Why did you want to become an LDC?

When an LDC visited my chapter, they helped me feel appreciated and realize the work I was doing made a difference. I hope to help chapter leaders feel the same way!

What do you consider to be the most valuable thing you own?

My camera and photo albums! I love looking at old pictures and videos and I will always hold those memories close to my heart.

What is one item on your bucket list?

I want to travel to Finland, stay in a glass igloo and see the northern lights!

Becca Crosby, Texas Eta

Traveling Leadership Development Consultant

What is something you are looking forward to this upcoming year?

I’m looking forward to visiting new chapters, campuses and states while meeting members who share my passion for Pi Beta Phi.

What is your favorite Pi Phi memory?

During the Texas winter storm, my Pi Phi sisters and I warmed up under our blankets while reflecting on our collegiate experience and playing board games. Weturned a difficult situation into something we could fondly look back on.

One food item I could never give up is … chips and queso!

Katie Dial, Idaho Alpha

Traveling Leadership Development Consultant

What do you want to accomplish this year as an LDC?

I want to empower our members to feel confident in their roles and as servant leaders. I want to equip officers with the tools and resources to accomplish their duties and thank them for giving back to the chapter.

What do you consider to be the most valuable thing you own?

My espresso machine — I love coffee and make it every day. I love the practice of doing something daily; my morning ritual prepares me for the day ahead.

My favorite book is … Untamed by Glennon Doyle.

Jordan Freudenberg, Delaware Alpha

Resident Leadership Development Consultant at Florida Eta

What do you want to accomplish as an RLDC?

I want to remind every collegian of their courage and strength. I hope to empower them to accomplish their goals and support them in their journeys.

What do you consider to be the most valuable thing you own?

A camera I received from my parents in eighth grade. At the time, I was obsessed with taking pictures because I liked the idea of “documenting” my life. I still have the camera and take it everywhere I can to photograph my travels, friends and family.

My most used emoji … ðŸ¤

Maddison Gates, Connecticut Alpha

Resident Leadership Development Consultant at Wisconsin Epsilon

What do you want to accomplish this year as an RLDC?

I want to encourage a love of Pi Phi with the charter members of Wisconsin Epsilon. I hope to show them how they can contribute to our special sisterhood.

What was your favorite campus activity in college?

I loved being a tour guide because I was able to learn more about the university and share my love for UConn with potential students.

What do you consider to be the most valuable thing you own?

My childhood diaries because they allow me to remember exactly what I was feeling, thinking and doing throughout my childhood!

Christiana Holladay, Colorado Gamma

Resident Leadership Development Consultant at Connecticut Gamma

Second-Year LDC

I wanted to become an LDC because … I want to empower members to see the best in themselves and cherish our sisterhood. Pi Beta Phi is so special, and I am honored to work for the continuation of our sisterhood.

Who is your Pi Beta Phi mentor?

Grand Vice President Member Experience Jamie Daniels. Jamie built my confidence as a leader and continues to encourage me to this day. She is thoughtful and intentional about the work she does for our sisterhood and has forever impacted my membership.

One food item I could never give up ... chocolate!

Sarah Moore, South Carolina Alpha

Second-Year LDC

What do you want to accomplish this year as an RLDC?

As a second-year consultant, I want to continue to build relationships across the Fraternity. I love meeting members from diverse backgrounds across the country. Over the last year, I learned so much about resiliency from our collegiate members and met alumnae who truly embody Lifelong Commitment.

What was your favorite campus activity in college?

Attending University of South Carolina football games! Gamedays were always so fun, and I loved spending the entire day with friends.

Most people don’t know, but I… am left-handed!

Dorothy Ruoff, Montana Alpha

Resident Leadership Development Consultant at Connecticut Gamma

Second-Year LDC

I wanted to become an LDC because … I had amazing LDCs who invested their time into making me a stronger leader. The multi-faceted support system closely mimics the world of social work and the professional field in which I’d like to work.

Is there a member of Pi Beta Phi who inspires you?

Grand Vice President Alumnae Greer Horne. Greer supported virtual recruitment efforts with an ease that comes from being a seasoned professional. I am excited to watch her support the Fraternity in her new role on Grand Council!

Most people don’t know, but I … have a lizard named Ted!

Karli Sugar, Nebraska Gamma

I wanted to be an LDC because …  I want to support chapters across North America and mentor the next generation of Pi Phi leaders. I hope to be a role model for others and help them grow to their upmost potential.

What was your favorite campus activity in college?

My favorite campus activity was being a group fitness instructor for Creighton University. I loved teaching classes and motivating people to reach their fitness goals!

Most people don’t know, but I … know how to code and have developed an app!

Stephanie Treanor, Arizona Gamma

What do you want to accomplish this year as an LDC?

I want to be a resource to the chapters I support, while also empowering our members. Seeing chapter officers lead with confidence in themselves and their chapters is the greatest accomplishment.

Is there a member of Pi Beta Phi who inspires you?

Leadership and Nominating Committee Chair Melissa Kish. Melissa exudes positivity and kindness, while showing everyone what it means to be a Pi Phi. I am so thankful for her endless support, confidence, friendship and guidance.

Most people don’t know, but I … was adopted at 11 days old.

I am looking forward to meeting the members of Florida Eta and working alongside RLDC Jordan!

I valued my time as a member of Sororities Invested in Survivor Support, Training, and Ending Rape Culture (SISSTER). Through SISSTER, we raised awareness on campus about sexual violence and advocated for survivors of sexual assault.

What is your favorite quote?

“The reality is: sometimes you lose. And you’re never too good to lose. You’re never too big to lose. You’re never too smart to lose. It happens.” – Beyoncé
