Pi Beta Phi Fraternity’s Statement of Obligations of Membership offers a high level outline of the Fraternity’s policies, expectations and basic obligations of membership. All members of Pi Beta Phi are required to sign the Statement of Obligations of Membership annually within 30 days of the beginning of the fall term. If New Members are pledged during the year, they must sign the Statement as soon as possible after pledging and before initiation. Once signed as a New Member, the Statement of Obligations of Membership is applied to a member’s entire collegiate membership. The annual signing by initiated members serves as a reminder of these obligations.
The chapter Vice President of Administration and Policy and Standards Board review the entire Statement of Obligations of Membership with New Members and initiated members in a chapter or special meeting before it is signed. At this time, chapters often review the Expectations of Membership, Policy and Position Statements, Financial Obligations of Membership and Membership Q&A.
