A Letter From Our President....

Welcome to the Ohio Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at The Ohio State University! I hope you take the time to look around our website and get a chance to see the amazing sisterhood we share.

Pi Beta Phi was founded on April 28, 1867 at Monmouth College inMonmouth, Illinois. Our original 12 founders were dedicated to advancing the education and interests of women, and today our organization is stronger than ever with hundreds of thousands of sisters all across the globe. This year the Ohio Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi celebrates its 120th Anniversary on The Ohio State University campus. Since 1894, our sisters have created a legacy of sisterhood and friendship by incorporating into each day the Pi Beta Phi core values of Integrity, Lifelong Commitment, Honor and Respect, Personal and Intellectual Growth, Philanthropic Service to Others, and Sincere Friendship.

Joining Pi Beta Phi has been truly the most rewarding experience that I have had not only in my time here at Ohio State, but in my entire life. Being able to get to know all the amazing young women in our chapter has shown me the strength and durability of the bonds of friendship, and most importantly, sisterhood. Every single Pi Phi is unique and special in her own way, and I am constantly amazed by all of the fantastic things that our members are doing at Ohio State and throughout the community. Being the Chapter President of such a remarkable group of women has helped me grow insurmountably as a person, and the Pi Phi values instilled in all of us remind me every single day of the person I want to be.

Being a Pi Phi at Ohio State is a privilege and an honor. Our sisters are leaders both in the Greek community and on campus. We have members involved with countless organizations, sports teams, charities and volunteer work, research assistantships, internships, and more. One of our highest priorities at Ohio Beta is academics.  Currently one in three Pi Phis is in the Honors and Scholars programs. We have also demonstrated our commitment to education by consistently achieving one of the highest overall grade point averages in all of Greek life.

In addition to all of these things, Pi Beta Phi provides so many amazing opportunities to become involved at OSU and beyond. Our philanthropy, the Read> Lead> Achieve initiative which promotes literacy, is an integral part of our chapter. We hold so many fun events throughout the year, such as Pie a Pi Phi and our Run Over Michigan 5k, to raise both money and awareness for this cause. We also do a lot of service work in the Columbus community, such as Reach Out and Read at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Members read to underprivileged children in the waiting room of the hospital and love experiencing, first hand, the impact that they make on the children.  In addition to philanthropic service, Pi Phi has tremendous leadership opportunities. We have an 11-member executive council with positions focused on everything from finance, to scholarship, to event planning. We also have numerous chair positions and committees for members to get more involved in within the chapter.

Finally, our calendar is constantly filled with sisterhood activities and socials. We love to dress up and have fun together, whether that means cheering on our Buckeyes at football games in the fall or attending formal and date parties. However, there is nothing better than watching a movie in pajamas with all of our sisters in the basement of our beautiful home.

While I cannot believe that in a little of one year I will become a Pi Phi alumna, I know that Pi Phi is a lifelong commitment and the friendships I share with my sisters will truly last a lifetime. Pi Phi is not just four years, but for life. It is an immense honor and blessing to be the Chapter President of the Ohio Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi. I am blessed to have such an extraordinary group of women to work with. I’m so thankful for my time here at Ohio Beta, and I can’t wait to see all of the amazing things that lie ahead for Pi Beta Phi.

Please take a look around our website and see everything that Pi Phi has to offer. I can’t wait to meet you!

Pi Phi Love & Mine,
