Fraternity Offers Legacy Webinars to Prepare for Recruitment

Published On: 2014-06-19

The Fraternity is excited to offer two webinars to help you and your legacy prepare for a successful recruitment experience. Pi Phi alumnae are invited to join an intimate discussion with Director Membership Tina Rivard, Pennsylvania Theta, and Assistant Director, Collegiate Services Leigh Thiedeman, Iowa Gamma:

  • Wednesday, July 9, at 8 p.m. CST
  • Monday, July 28, at 8 p.m. CST

To join us for one of these webinars, please go to www.pibetaphi.org/recruitment and click on “Sign up for a webinar” or simply click here.

A legacy is defined as a daughter, sister or granddaughter of an initiated member. The Constitution and Statues states, “special consideration shall be given to legacies whose qualifications are comparable to those of other Potential New Members.” A relative’s membership provides legacies unique consideration by the chapter, but recruitment is still a mutual selection of a legacy and a chapter.

These webinars will answer some of the most frequently asked questions about legacies:

  • What is Pi Beta Phi’s legacy policy?
  • Are legacies automatically given a bid?
  • How do I notify a chapter my legacy will be participating in recruitment?
  • Why can’t a chapter discuss a Potential New Member with me?
  • … And much more!

We look forward to speaking with you!
