Home is where your sisters are

Sincere Friendships take root in the places Pi Phis call home. It’s where Pi Phis learn to care for each other, pursue academic goals, practice leadership skills and celebrate the ups and downs of life surrounded by women who share similar values.

Learning and growing together as sisters, especially within a Pi Phi facility, is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to build bonds that last forever. When members are more satisfied with their housing experience, they’re more likely to be satisfied with their overall Pi Phi experience — and more likely to stay engaged. Whether a chapter has a live-in facility or a shared meeting space, being a member of Pi Phi means you’ll always have a place to call home.

Attending Montana Alpha's Initiation as an alumna was just as special as I thought it would be. Stepping foot back into the same room 10 years after my own Initiation and six years after I graduated took my breath away for a moment, and took me right back to those four years I spent in 1304. Forever the largest portion of my heart will live here with the next generation of Pi Phis.

Kyra Kay Flatow, Montana Alpha

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

From academic encouragement to emotional support and memories that last a lifetime, Pi Phi chapter facilities provide communities of friendship, personal growth and belonging. Whether a traditional house, campus meeting space or lodge, Pi Phi facilities combine unique amenities, safety features and the comfort of sisterhood.

Pi Beta Phi is committed to ensuring a premier housing experience for our members, which is why all our facilities are equipped with necessary health and safety measures, such as access control only provided to Pi Beta Phi members, auto-lock exterior doors, security cameras and fire alarm monitoring systems.

Pi Phi chapter facilities can range from traditional houses, townhouses and dorms to suites, non-residential lodges, storage units and campus meeting spaces. These can be owned by the Fraternity Housing Corporation, a Chapter House Corporation or the university.

No, not every Pi Phi chapter has a facility, but the Fraternity works to support every chapter’s individual needs in alignment with the university. All Pi Phi chapters have places for sisters to gather in friendship, host recruitment and hold meetings.

The Fraternity Housing Corporation (FHC) is comprised of volunteers and full-time Headquarters staff members who lead Pi Phi’s efforts to support and manage chapter facilities. From financial forecasting to employee oversight and fundraising expertise, FHC is dedicated to helping chapters achieve a positive housing experience while accounting for each chapter’s unique needs and respecting the commitment of local volunteers.

Chapter House Corporations (CHC) are local, alumnae-led groups that fully own and manage Pi Phi chapter facilities. CHC volunteers maintain the facility, hire and supervise chapter employees, manage related expenses and raise funds to support the chapter’s housing needs.

Support the housing experience

FHC works in partnership with CHCs and our Foundation to advance the housing experience for all Pi Phi collegians. Through programs and grants to support the educational functions of our facilities, our Foundation helps create housing that contributes to a premier member experience. With your support, you can help ensure the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live alongside sisters continues for future generations of Pi Phis. Some of these initiatives include:

  • Educational Area Grant Program (EAGP): offers a tax-deductible option for donors to help fund a significant renovation or building project, typically tied to a capital campaign.
  • Chapter House Improvement Program (CHIP) Fund: offers a tax-deductible option for donors to help with ongoing maintenance of the facility such as helping with utility costs, technology upgrades, functionality pieces and more. A CHIP also helps with educational upgrades such as technology and furniture for improved study areas.

GIVING TO OUR FOUNDATION

If you don't see your chapter facility listed in one of these program options, contact the Foundation to learn more about establishing a program to benefit the future of your facility!

We believe in the power of reading.

For more than a century, we've worked to inspire a lifelong love of reading that can unlock true potential, creating a more literate and productive society. Today, Pi Phis participate, donate and advocate for literacy through our Read > Lead > Achieve® reading initiatives — just as our sisters first did in 1912.
