Pi Beta Phi Honors an Inspiring Alumna Leader, Gay Gipson Middleton

ST. LOUIS, MO – October 23, 2014 – Pi Beta Phi is deeply saddened to share the news that Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Alumnae Club Co-President Gay Gipson Middleton, Louisiana Beta, passed away over the weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and sisters in Pi Beta Phi.

Gay was an inspiring leader and her love of Pi Phi was contagious. She served as a chapter officer while attending Louisiana State University and as a member of Louisiana Beta’s Alumnae Advisory Committee and Chapter House Corporation. Recently, she served on the chapter’s 75th anniversary committee and as a member of the Capital Campaign Committee helping secure funding for the chapter.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to St. James Episcopal Church of Baton Rouge; Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Foundation (for breast cancer research and patient care); LSU Foundation (for the benefit of the School of Library and Information Science); Pi Beta Phi Foundation, Louisiana Beta Chapter; or another.

For more information, please view Gay’s obituary published in The Advocate.
