Pi Beta Phi Installs at Chapman University

ORANGE, CALIFORNIA—May 14, 2015 – Pi Beta Phi celebrated the installation of its California Omicron Chapter at Chapman University May 8–10, 2015. Many area alumnae and collegians joined the 97 California Omicron collegians and four alumna initiates to celebrate the chapter’s installation. Campus friends, family and alumnae attended the Cookie Shine, a Pi Phi tradition, on Friday evening in addition to the Installation banquet on Saturday night. The weekend concluded on Sunday with chapter members attending their first chapter meeting and officers being installed by Grand President Paula Pace Shepherd.

Immediately after colonizing recruitment in February, the New Members were eager to begin their legacy on the Chapman campus. It was a busy semester for the women who attended their first major sisterhood event at the Anaheim Angels Game, hosted Popsicles with Pi Phi to thank the Chapman students for their support and formed teams for FIJI and Beta Theta Pi's philanthropy events

“The Chapman University campus has offered us exceptional support,” said Grand Vice President Membership Cindy Rice Svec. “We were assigned a “Panhellenic liaison” at the start of the school year, asked to present at and view their formal recruitment rounds in September and The Office of Student Engagement staff was very helpful all year. The chapter is off to an incredible start.”
