Pi Beta Phi Returns to the University of Nevada, Reno
RENO, Nev. — Pi Beta Phi welcomed 80 collegians and one alumna to its Nevada Alpha Chapter at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), December 8–9, 2017.

A team of international officers, Headquarters staff and local alumnae facilitated the weekend activities including an alumna pledging ceremony and Preparatory Service on Friday night, initiation on Saturday morning, a model chapter meeting and officer and Alumnae Advisory Committee installation that afternoon and a Cookie Shine Saturday night. Many campus leaders, local alumnae and parents attended the Cookie Shine to celebrate the chapter’s return to campus.

Throughout their New Member period, the collegiate women immersed themselves into the University of Nevada, Reno fraternity and sorority community. The women partnered with the men of Lambda Chi Alpha for a trivia night and hosted several sisterhood events including “Friends-giving” and an escape room activity.

“The women of the chapter are excited to begin a new Pi Beta Phi legacy on the University of Nevada, Reno campus,” said Grand Vice President Membership Rae Wohlhueter Maier. “The Panhellenic community, campus officials and local alumnae have shown us incredible support, which is evident when you hear about all the wonderful things the women of the Nevada Alpha Chapter have already accomplished in such a short time.”
