Philanthropy Events at Kentucky Alpha

Pi Beta Phi has two main philanthropy events that we hold every year, Putt-Putt with Pi Phi and Bingo for Books. Putt-Putt with Pi Phi is held in the fall semester where other members of Greek life, family, and friends come together to support our sisterhood in raising money and promoting literacy in the city of Louisville. Bingo for Books is our newest philanthropy event, which was first held in the spring of 2015. This is a bingo event with several games, raffles, and prizes. All of the money and proceeds from this event goes directly towards our philanthropy. Another small event that we will be holding in 2015 will be a book drive. All week long we collect books for children for local schools and at the end of the week, we will hold a carnival for the student body to buy tickets for games and food. All of the money will go to buying more books. The Kentucky Alpha chapter of Pi Beta Phi recently won an award from Pi Phi Nationals for our outstanding philanthropic service to the city of Louisville.Literacy in our community means everything to us. Another great achievement of Pi Phi is that we recently donated 500 books to Cochran Elementary (which located in Louisville, Kentucky).
