Pi Beta Phi Responds to the United States Supreme Court Ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization  

Since our founding as the first fraternity for women, Pi Beta Phi’s work for the advancement of women has been foundational to our organization. The United States Supreme Court decision released today impacts all women and evokes emotion in complex and deeply personal ways. As a women’s organization, we must acknowledge the implications of this significant moment in history.   

Pi Beta Phi believes every woman deserves to make decisions about their own future.  

Within our sisterhood, our commitment to one another does not hinge on agreement, taking sides or withholding parts of ourselves. In the spirit of Sincere Friendship, while we engage in thoughtful conversation, we should honor our own beliefs while respecting those of our sisters.  

Founded in 1867 at Monmouth College in Illinois, Pi Beta Phi has more than 316,000 initiated members and has installed 204 collegiate chapters and nearly 300 alumnae organizations worldwide. Pi Beta Phi promotes friendship, develops women of intellect and integrity, cultivates leadership potential and enriches the lives of members and their communities.
