Pi Beta Phi Foundation Announces New Executive Director

Pi Beta Phi Foundation Board of Trustees is thrilled to announce Jill Mackey Carrel, Indiana Gamma, has been selected as Pi Beta Phi Foundation Executive Director. Jill brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in nonprofit management and fundraising. She has a proven track record of success in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to support organizations' missions. Her leadership skills, dedication to our sisterhood and commitment to our mission make her an ideal choice for this role.

Since joining our Foundation as Director of Advancement in 2019, Jill has been an integral part of our Foundation’s success. She has led Foundation staff and Pi Phi leaders to advocate for the organization through ongoing cultivation and solicitation of existing donors; partnered with internal and external teams to benchmark and streamline prospect management practices; built cross-collaborative teams to ensure organizational priorities are aligned and integrated into development practices; and led fundraising strategies that drive engagement through revenue generation and member participation while authentically sharing the mission of our Foundation, driving affinity and maximizing support. Jill's innovative vision has encouraged and empowered Pi Phis of all ages and giving levels to participate in the Foundation's growth.

Foundation Board of Trustees President Cindy Rice Svec shared, “Jill has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of our Foundation's goals and objectives. Her strategic thinking, fresh perspectives and ability to build strong relationships with donors and stakeholders have been instrumental in advancing our fundraising efforts and supporting our programs.”

In her new role as Executive Director, Jill will continue to provide visionary leadership to Pi Beta Phi Foundation. She will oversee all aspects of Foundation operations, including the effectiveness and efficiency of development, programs, communications and finance, and will drive collaboration with our various partners to further enhance the impact of our initiatives.

Jill is a graduate of Butler University and was first employed by Pi Beta Phi as a Leadership Development Consultant. Jill has held numerous volunteer roles at the local and international officer levels including a member of the Alumnae Advisory Committee and the Chapter House Corporation for Indiana Gamma, , Collegiate Regional Membership Specialist and Director, Chapter Support Officer and Leadership Institute Facilitator. Prior to joining the Foundation, her professional positions included Director of Foundation Operations at Sigma Tau Gamma, Assistant Director of Alumni and Donor Relations at Marian University and Associate Director of Stewardship at Alpha Sigma Phi.

Founded in 1990, Pi Beta Phi Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational tax-exempt organization. The Foundation is uniquely focused on helping Pi Beta Phi fulfill its mission — promoting friendship, developing women of intellect and integrity, cultivating leadership potential and enriching lives through community service. The Foundation secures the resources Pi Phi needs to ensure that work continues.
