Pi Beta Phi Chapter at Ball State University to Close
It is with a heavy heart that Pi Beta Phi announces the closure of its Indiana Zeta Chapter at Ball State University, effective December 12, 2025, following a vote by Grand Council.
After careful consideration by Fraternity leadership, it became evident the chapter could no longer sustain its operational obligations while providing a positive and fulfilling member experience. Over the past several years, Pi Beta Phi volunteers and Headquarters staff partnered closely with Indiana Zeta, offering extensive support and guidance in an effort to maintain long-term stability.
"A positive membership experience is a cornerstone of Pi Beta Phi and begins with a chapter membership roster capable of sustaining chapter operations," Grand President Jenn Plagman-Galvin said. "While this outcome is deeply difficult, it reflects our responsibility to ensuring members experience the friendship, leadership and personal growth that define Pi Beta Phi. We are proud of the resilience shown by Indiana Zeta members and look forward to welcoming them fully into alumnae life, where their connection to Pi Phi will continue for years to come. Indiana Zeta will forever remain an important part of Pi Beta Phi’s story."
Founded in 1952, the Indiana Zeta Chapter has initiated more than 2,100 women into Pi Beta Phi.
