Hello there! Welcome to Pi Beta Phi at Butler University, the Indiana Gamma chapter. I am so glad that you stumbled upon our website; I would love to take a second to share with you some brief information about our chapter.
We have about 180 members, none of which are identical. We have just about every major you can think of; we are represented in almost every activity or club that Butler University offers. We are all so proud of each other and embrace our differences. There are ten members on our Executive Council that help lead our chapter, which you can read about on this website. The hard work though, truly comes from our members and the positivity they bring to this house.
Butler University uses a delayed-rush system, which means we have our Primary Recruitment process in the spring semester. Students of any age are welcome, and encouraged, to go through the recruitment process and find their “home away from home.” At Indiana Gamma, we truly value the spring semester recruitment because we believe it allows girls to find their place in college first, and focus on academics and fostering friendships without the hustle and bustle of the Greek system, their first semester here.
What I find most important in this chapter are the friendships. It sounds cliché, but I have found my best friend in this house and I know many of other girls who have done the same. We all share the same values, and the same goal of supporting each other in whatever it is a sister wants to do. Sororities often get an interesting wrap from the media and are blanketed with stereotypes stemming from the select sororities that have made some bad decisions. However, at IN Gamma, our focus is on each other. We believe in making each sister the best student/friend/leader/etc. she can be!
Feel free to browse around the website and contact us with any questions!
