Sisterhood is forever

A Message From the President

Welcome to the Massachusetts Gamma Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at MIT! We’re happy to have you here, and hope that you’ll take a few moments to learn about our sisters and the bonds we share by perusing our photos and reading about our membership.

Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women is a premier organization dedicated to philanthropic service and personal development through leadership and friendship. Our national philanthropy is literacy, a cause that our sisters hold close to their hearts and work hard to promote internationally through community service, advocacy, and fundraising. Our values-based programming goes beyond philanthropic service to others to include development of integrity, honor and respect, and academic and professional growth. Our chapter was founded in fall of 2008, and is focused on the personal development and support of sisters through the rigor of MIT and life. Massachusetts Gamma women are of intellect and integrity, true leaders, and sincere friends, and we are making a significant and positive impact on the communities of Panhellenic, MIT, and beyond.

Pi Phi at MIT is a truly unique group of women. The compassion, selflessness, and drive that I see in my sisters each day inspires me to be a better individual and to seek out opportunities to deepen my friendships with them. We are philanthropists, athletes, musicians, rocket scientists, teachers, engineers, entrepreneurs, dancers, writers, leaders, and so much more. Not only do these women motivate me to be a better scholar and leader, but they also inspire me to be a better friend, most of the time without realizing it. MIT is a challenging place, and while there is no shortage of stressful days, I know I’ll get through it all each time I’m given a helping hand or support from any one of our one hundred and thirty-five sisters. These down-to-earth, strong, loving women have welcomed every new sister with open arms and hearts, allowing so many to call Pi Phi their home. My experience at MIT has been truly defined by this special group of women that I have the privilege of calling my sisters.

Our sisters are passionate, intelligent, empowering, and are already changing the world. I can’t wait to see what we can do in the future. We invite you to browse our website and see for yourself why we are proud to be sisters of the Massachusetts Gamma Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at MIT!

Pi Phi Love and Mine,
 Kyla Truman
