Achieving more through technology

From handwritten rosters and carbon copies to cloud-based platforms and real-time data, Pi Beta Phi has come a long way in how we use technology to connect, operate and lead. During Convention 2025, we celebrated one of our most ambitious digital transformations yet—the successful launch and early impact of BetaBase, our new member portal. This platform marks a major step forward in how Pi Phi serves its members—and how members engage with the Fraternity.

Why it Matters

Technology isn’t just about convenience—it’s about connection. In today’s fast-paced world, members expect access, clarity, and ease in how they interact with organizations. Pi Phi’s leadership recognized that in order to thrive long-term, we needed a system that could empower volunteers to do their jobs more efficiently; allow members to manage their experience in one place; provide clean, reliable data to support strategic decision-making; and, create consistency and accessibility across all member types.

A Major Milestone: BetaBase Launches

At Convention 2023 in Phoenix, the Fraternity announced that a new member portal was coming. In 2024, we delivered on that promise. BetaBase launched on schedule with impressive results: 34,000+ members created their accounts within the first few months; the platform has already become the go-to hub for everything from dues and donations to course tracking and alumnae engagement; and, thousands of members logged in during the launch window, exploring the new features and providing valuable feedback.

While system transitions of this size are never simple, the rollout was a success—thanks in large part to the patience, grace and partnership of our members and volunteers.

Today, BetaBase consolidates and streamlines core Pi Phi functions. Depending on your role or membership type, you can update your contact information; pay alumnae dues; view and register for events; track officer education or volunteer training; submit and manage applications; and, access alumnae club or chapter resources. For volunteers, it also reduces administrative burden, replacing outdated tools and manual processes with more intuitive workflows.

Pi Phi is committed to continuously improving BetaBase. Future enhancements include smarter dues management with reminders and flexible payment options; real-time course and status tracking for officers, advisors, and volunteers; customized alumnae club membership segmentation to better serve regional and life-stage needs; and, streamlined communication tools for chapter and club leaders.

BetaBase is more than a software upgrade. It’s a re-imagining of how Pi Phi can show up for its members—from first-year collegians to 50-year alumnae.
