How has your involvement with Pi Beta Phi influenced or shaped your approach to leadership?
Being part of such an esteemed and like-minded group of women early in life was instrumental in my growth as a leader committed to giving back to the community. The strength of this fellowship and the inspiration drawn from one another are intangible benefits that have truly made a difference.
What advice would you give to other Pi Phis who aspire to make a positive impact in their professional career?
Pursue a career that you are passionate about and support the women around you. Together, we can make an incredible team.
In what ways do you believe your experiences as a Pi Phi have uniquely prepared you for your professional role?
The inspiration gained from harnessing Pi Phi’s core values into action helped form a service-oriented foundation from which I—and others—have truly benefitted.
What motivates and inspires you to continue your efforts in your career?
I have transitioned from a child whose family was a recipient of the generosity of others to one who is able to pay that kindness forward. The determination to give back has been instrumental in my dedication to service.
What do you love most about your work?
My work and my passion go hand-in-hand, and for that I’m truly grateful. To me, there is nothing more important to enriching one’s life than a good education, and my career has been dedicated to leading the charge to help provide such opportunities for millions of students.
What's the best advice you’ve ever received?
I thank my mother for giving me the best advice I’ve received, which is to follow The Golden Rule. Treating others as I’d like to be treated has served me well for many years.
How do you measure personal success?
Love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life—now that’s a success.
