Pi Beta Phi Refreshes Member Programming

Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women has announced the refresh of its award-winning Leading with Values® member development program. Based on the Fraternity’s core values, the refreshed Leading with Values seminars offer purposeful programming to help participants create authentic connections by engaging in open and honest conversations, grow their interpersonal skills through intentional dialogue and reflection and acquire tangible skills that aid in the advancement of confident, women leaders.

Over the last two years, Pi Phi has evolved Leading with Values to further engage members in open, honest conversations that enhance long-lasting relationships. The refreshed seminars are offered in an all-new flexible, online format that allows the chapter to customize the curriculum to best engage their members while still delivering a powerful, values-based outcome. The curriculum includes facilitated discussions surrounding relevant issues such as mental health; diversity, equity and inclusion; conflict resolution; self-care; and supporting others through empathy. Pi Phi will continue to develop additional seminars throughout 2021 and beyond.

“We envisioned a program that would more fully support our collegians,” said Grand Vice President Member Experience Jamie Feist Daniels. “Pi Phi’s core values are constant, but we want to ensure our members are engaging with those values in meaningful, relevant ways. Leading with Values encourages our collegiate members to approach personal, intellectual and professional development with intention, as leaders and as dedicated members of their communities.”

Launched in 2003 and previously revamped in 2009, Leading with Values sets the stage for understanding and living the values of the Fraternity — fulfilling leadership potential, serving others and achieving academic excellence. Programs are available publicly on the Fraternity’s website as a continued commitment to strengthening the communities we call home. The programming engages Pi Phis from their time as New Members throughout collegiate membership and alumnae life through New Member Education, Critical Conversations®, Leading with Values seminars and Pi Phi for Life.

Founded in 1867 at Monmouth College in Illinois, Pi Beta Phi promotes friendship, develops women of intellect and integrity, cultivates leadership potential and enriches the lives of members and their communities. Pi Beta Phi has more than 300,000 initiated members, and has installed more than 200 collegiate chapters and nearly 300 alumnae clubs worldwide. The Fraternity believes in the power of reading and through its philanthropy, Read > Lead > Achieve®, promotes a lifelong love of reading that can unlock true potential.
