Insider's Guide to Phoenix

As we look forward to celebrating Friendship True in Phoenix, Arizona, July 7-10, our Local Committee Convention Chair Kim O’Brien, Ohio Zeta, shares all her favorites in the area and why you should attend Convention 2023! Get excited to visit the best restaurants and sites with your sisters! 
 

1.) What are the best restaurants in the Phoenix area?  

Steak 44, Ocean 44 and Chelsea’s Kitchen are all delicious! For pizza, try La Grande Orange Grocery & Pizzeria or Pizzeria Bianco. 

2.) What are the best coffee shops for a pick-me-up?

Berdenas in Old Scottsdale, Cartels, Press or Stemistry.  

3.) If someone was only visiting Phoenix for one day, what would you suggest they do?   

During July, the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM), Heard Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, Taliesin West, Wonderspaces at Scottsdale Fashion Square and—depending on the weather—Desert Botanical Garden. 
 

4.) What’s your favorite place in Phoenix that not many people know about?  

On High Street (near the JW Marriott) the Nemesis Club has two escape rooms that are rated in the top 100 escape rooms in the world! 
 

5.) What will sisters find near the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa?   ​

Desert Ridge Marketplace has tons of restaurants and shopping. A little further, Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter offer many restaurant and retail options as well.  

 

6.) What are you most excited for at Convention 2023?  

Being together with sisters from afar that I’ve not seen since Convention 2019.  

7.) Why should sisters attend this year’s convention?  

Sisters should attend to re-establish old friendships and create new ones—just as 2023 Convention’s theme states “Friendship True”!
