Celebrate International Women’s Friendship Month

Pi Phi is joining Kappa Delta Sorority to celebrate the important women in our lives. Childhood friends, college classmates, workplace colleagues and even family—the bonds we share with other women are so empowering. During September, show your love and appreciation for these important women in your life. Below are a few ideas to get started.

1. Schedule a monthly book club

Get to know your pals on a deeper level by gathering for a monthly book discussion. Whether you meet in-person or through Zoom, you’re sure to learn from your friends’ insights and perspectives. Or, join the Pi Phi Pages virtual book club to connect with other literacy-loving sisters.

2. Send a virtual wine carnation

You can honor and celebrate the important women who have touched your life by sending a virtual wine carnation with a gift to Pi Beta Phi Foundation. Each carnation allows you to send a personalized message of thanks, appreciation and Pi Phi Love.

3. Treat your friend to a coffee break

Schedule a coffee date to thank your gal pal for being an important part of your life. Can’t make it in person? Send a gift card with a thank you note and an invitation to a virtual coffee date.

4. Hold a Pi Phi Cookie Shine

Celebrate the sisterhood that unites all Pi Phis by bringing your sisters and friends together for this Fraternity tradition. Send a cookie recipe to encourage your friends to bake and prepare their own cookies for the celebration.

5. Schedule a lunch date

Spend some time checking in on your friend who always serves as your listening ear. Order lunch and share a meal in-person or over video call.

6. Get in the groove

Great friendships have a soundtrack, whether the songs are from last semester or last decade. Create a shared Apple or Spotify playlist with songs that remind you of each other and your favorite memories.

7. Write a personal note

Is there a friend, mentor or other woman leader you work with closely? Show your appreciation by letting a dear friend, mentor or coworker know how grateful you are. Can you always rely on them to provide a listening ear? Write it down and tell them!

8. Start a supper club

A monthly supper club is the perfect way to make sure time doesn’t pass without connecting with your friends in a meaningful way. Nourish your bodies, while connecting with others.
