2022 Collegiate Excellence Award Winners
Every year, Pi Beta Phi recognizes clubs, chapters and individual members for their excellence in various aspects of Pi Phi life. Collegiate Excellence Awards honor chapters which display exceptional success in areas of chapter leadership and serve as inspiration for all members. Congratulations to our 2022 Collegiate Excellence Award Winners!
Collegiate Excellence in Finance/Housing
Arizona Alpha
Through strong collaboration and partnership, the Arizona Alpha Chapter Finance/Housing Team successfully led chapter facility renovations, coordinated a large sisterhood event and worked to improve the efficiency and accuracy of billing fines and charges. Their commitment allowed the chapter to operate strongly within the projected budget and end the year in a secure financial position.
Collegiate Excellence in Community Relations
Iowa Gamma
In 2022, the Iowa Gamma Chapter initiated a relationship with the Henry Alan Munson Owen (HAMO) Foundation, which began in honor of Kansas Alpha Susan Munson Owen’s son who died from suicide in 2020. HAMO’s mission is to raise awareness for mental health, and the Iowa Gamma Chapter worked closely with Susan to help spread her message to not only Iowa Gamma members, but the community at large.
Collegiate Excellence in Member Experience
Arizona Alpha
The Arizona Alpha Chapter Member Experience Team successfully transitioned back to fully in-person programming with a total of 21 sisterhood events, seven study parties and eight senior bonding experiences. With an improved New Member experience and focus on chapter engagement and relevant programming, the chapter saw astonishing retention rates, proving their consistent support and care for all members.
Collegiate Excellence in Risk Management
Mississippi Gamma
After implementing the care to confront approach, the Mississippi Gamma Chapter saw great improvement in their risk management processes. Chapter leaders worked to remove the negative connotation associated with risk management and ensured all members felt safe and supported regardless of the challenges faced. Great care has been taken to ensure risk management concerns at Mississippi Gamma prioritize confidentiality, respect and guidance, which has proved to be beneficial for all involved.
Collegiate Excellence in Recruitment
Colorado Delta
From ensuring a welcoming environment for all to involving every member of the chapter with recruitment committees, the Colorado Delta Chapter had an exceptional recruitment for both initiated members and Potential New Members. To highlight the chapter’s focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, members selected children’s books featuring diverse themes and characters to write notes in during philanthropy day, which were then donated to the community.
Collegiate Excellence in Operations
South Carolina Beta
The South Carolina Beta Chapter excelled in various aspects of operations during 2022. By updating bylaws, improving points systems for more accessibility and understanding, efficiently managing rosters and creating outlines for important chapter information, members were supported throughout the entire year and led with diligence and commitment.
Collegiate Excellence in Alumnae Advisory Committee (AAC)
California Kappa
In 2022, California Kappa’s AAC offered guidance and support while also viewing mistakes and challenges as learning opportunities. The AAC lead with empathy and respect and also prioritized communication in all situations. All advisors took time to work closely with the collegians and find solutions together to ensure a supportive environment for personal and professional growth.
Collegiate Excellence in Chapter House Corporation (CHC)
Oklahoma Beta
Prior to Oklahoma Beta’s Chapter facility renovation, the CHC worked diligently to lead the housing campaign and raise nine million dollars—surpassing the largest National Panhellenic Conference group campaign. Aside from supporting the new build logistically, Oklahoma Beta’s CHC ensured all members felt comfortable during this transition by prioritizing communication and collaboration.
